Research & Environment

A short story about my background

I’m Dr. Marta Wenta, an atmospheric scientist with a profound understanding of meteorology and climate. I’ve also served as a project/product manager and environmental monitoring consultant, working with the biggest Polish ports.

I co-established the environmental monitoring company SeaData in Poland, working as a primary consultant and product manager for the Port of Gdynia and the Port of Gdansk, advising them on advanced environmental monitoring solutions. Alongside these roles, I led an international research project (including field measurements in Finland) and completed several successful private-sector initiatives under Horizon 2020 and startup acceleration programs. While collaborating with the marine industry, I also advanced my scientific career—earning a Ph.D. in Earth Science from the University of Gdansk (2021), where I focused on the atmospheric boundary layer, and later pursuing a postdoctoral fellowship at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology to investigate large-scale atmospheric dynamics. Most recently, I’ve been working as an energy meteorologist, broadening my perspective on the links between weather, renewables, and European energy markets. I’m passionate about climate and sustainability and have recently begun a Certified Expert in ESG and Impact Investing course to deepen my expertise in this area.

In my free time, I’m an avid trail/ultra runner, ranking top 10 in Poland.
